I grew up in beautiful Santa Barbara County, where the weather is sunny year round and you can eat overpriced seafood right on the beach front.
I graduated with an associate’s in journalism from Santa Barbara City College, where I was a writer for the Arts & Entertainment column on their student run newspaper. I soon took my first Public Relations class there, which showed me there was more to journalism than just reporting, but it’s also collaborating with people and shaping community.
I immediately transferred to Cal Poly afterwards, where I’m continuing my journalism studies, and now concentrating in Public Relations, and also minoring in Film and Photography.
My passion for storytelling has been lifelong, and I’m excited to continue working with more multimedia avenues of journalism, including magazine editing, videography, PR campaigns, social media and, soon, podcasting with Cal Poly’s KCPR station.
To me, art isn’t just a luxury - it’s something we use to make sense of this life, and ourselves. So I plan to keep creating with purpose, and with the hope that my work will communicate meaning, and resonate with the people that consume it.
With love,
